To celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeontology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (NIGPAS), the International Conference on Palaeobiology, High Resolution Stratigraphy and Fossil Energy was held in Nanjing during November 18-19, 2021. The conference was conducted in a simultaneous online and offline academic seminar format because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Focusing on the recent advances and perspectives in the fields of palaeobiology, stratigraphy, fossil energy and other relevant areas, the conference invited 11 academicians of CAS, 3 academicians of National Academy of Sciences, US (NAS), the presidents of International Palaeontological Association (IPA) and International Commission on Stratigraphy (ICS) as well as scholars from different institutions in stratigraphic and paleontological fields to make wonderful presentations, showcased the latest progress in palaeontology and stratigraphy research, and discussed the application of related research in mineral resources exploration and development. Over 2,500 scholars and students attend the online and offline conferences.
