NIGPAS was among the earliest institutions to be accredited by the State Education Commission to offer PhD and MSc degree programs in palaeontology, stratigraphy, and geobiology. More than 30 of our scientists serve as PhD advisors, and 50 as MSc advisors. There have been over 80 PhD graduates from the Institute, and over 200 MSc graduates. These graduates are currently among professionals in palaeontology and related fields in institutions across the country and worldwide.

Rich and colourful life of graduate students 

The Institute started its postdoctoral program in 1988. There have been more than 30 PhD’s from around the world who have worked here as postdoctoral researchers. There are currently 6 postdoctoral fellows at the Institute, including three international postdoctoral fellows.
