The IGCP Project “The stratigraphic and magmatic history of Early Palaeozoic equatorial Gondwana and its associated evolutionary Dynamics” launched by Prof. N. HUGHES from the California University, Prof. PENG Shanchi from NIGPAS and representatives from the Ministry of Mineral Resources of Thailand, the Burmese Geological Society, the University of Tsukuba, and the Hong Kong University was formally approved in March by the UNESCO IGCP Committee. The project was coded as IGCP 668, with a research period of 5 years (2018-2022), including more than 40 researchers from 15 countries and 3 international organizations. This is the only project focusing on the global change ratified by the IGCP Committee this year.
