On February 21 – March 6, 2018, 11 experts from NIGPAS including Prof. SHEN Shuzhong (CAS Academician) and Prof. WANG Xiangdong (Vice director of NIGPAS) visited the type sections of Pre-Cambrian/Cambrian, Permian/Triassic and Palaeocene/Eocene boundaries in the areas of Salt Range, Abbottabad and Paras in North Pakistan. Prof. Ishtiaq Jadoon and Dr. Muhammad Qasim from the COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Pakistan guided the field trip.  

The NIGPAS researchers also visited the COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, made further communication on future academic collaboration and talent training, and signed the agreement. They paid a visit to COMSATS University (Islamabad, Abbottabad) as well; the presidents of two institutions talked friendly with Chinese experts and discussing the academic collaboration in the future.
