On January 16, 2018, Prof. Adrian Immengauser, President of the International Association of Sedimentologists (IAS) announced that IAS would send a panel to help the GBDB (Geobiodiversity Database, http://www.geobiodiversity.com/) Team to complete the data structure, the design of the field and the online interface of the sedimentological database.
Founded in 1952, the IAS is a branch of the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS). The GBDB has entered the formal partnership with 3 international academic authorities (IAS, ICS, and IPA) up to now, with its further influence on the geosciences other than palaeontology and stratigraphy.
