According to the No. 578 Document of Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China, among the 37 evaluated state key laboratories in geo-science field in China, the State Key Laboratory of Paleobiology and Stratigraphy (LPS) of the institute was rated as excellent laboratory.
