A new book “Global Standard Stratotype-sections and Points in China” edited by Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeontology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (NIGPAS) had been published by Zhejiang University Press in November 2013.
The Global Boundary Stratotype Section and Point, abbreviated GSSP, is an internationally agreed upon reference point on a stratigraphic section which defines the lower boundary of a stage on the geologic time scale. During the past 16 years, seven out of 10 GSSPs established in China have been defined by NIGPAS scientists. This book is a systematical monograph to illustrate all these ten China's GSSPs.
