In February 2010, The 6th International Brachipod Congress hosted by School of Life and Environmental Sciences, Deakin University was held in Melbourne, Australia. Academician Rong Jiayu and other 4 representatives from Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeontology, Chinese Academy of Sciences attended the congress and gave oral presentations respectively. Professor Zhan Renbin delivered an invited presentation as well as professor Shen Shuzhong and Zhan Renbin both presented as Session chairmans of the congress.
The final item on the agenda of the conference is to determine the host of the next International Brachiopod Congress. Professor Shen Shuzhong on behalf of the Institute made a planning presentation and gave a warm welcome to the brachipod research experts from all over the world to China. At end, it was resolved that the 7th International Brachipod Congress will be held in Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeontology, CAS in 2015.
