On November 26th, 2024, Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeontology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (NIGPAS) and Geological institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (GIN, RAS) held an online bilateral forum. Research Professor WANG Jun, Director of NIGPAS, and Academician Kirill E. Degtyarev, Director of GIN, RAS, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of each units respectively.
During the forum, WANG Jun extended a warm welcome to the participants from both sides, and briefly introduced the participants of NIGPAS. He pointed out that the two sides have a long history and a solid foundation of cooperation. As early as 2011, YANG Qun, then Director of NIGPAS, led a delegation to visit the GIN, RAS. Since then, the two sides has carried out a series of exchange visits and scientific research cooperation, and jointly achieved many results. The two sides discussed their respective research directions, exchange visits and lectures, cooperation and exchanges.
Kirill E. Degtyarev said that the signing of the memorandum of cooperation will help the two sides to further strengthen exchanges through scientific research exchanges, mutual visits, joint application of projects, joint training of students and other means, and achieve rich academic achievements, pushing the cooperation between the two sides to a higher level.
