From June 24 to 27, the joint conference of the 20th International Congress on the Carboniferous and Permian and VARISCAN Meeting 2025 was held at the University of Toulouse, France. A total of 19 researchers and graduate students from the Late Paleozoic research team of the Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeontology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (NIGPAS), attended the conference.
Under the theme "News from the Paleozoic World," nearly 200 researchers specializing in the Late Paleozoic from around the globe gathered to create an academic platform aimed at fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and deepening the understanding of the complex evolutionary history of the Earth system during the Late Paleozoic.
At the conference, the research team engaged in in-depth exchanges with international peers, fully demonstrating their leading expertise in fields such as Late Paleozoic paleontology, stratigraphy, and sedimentology.
