On October 16th, 2025, Nanjing Institute of Geology and Palaeontology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (NIGPAS) and Mahasarakham University held a bilateral forum. Research Professor WANG Jun, director of NIGPAS, and Professor Mongkol Udchachon, Director of Palaeontological Research and Education Centre at Mahasarakham University, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on behalf of each unit respectively.
First, WANG Jun expressed a warm welcome to the delegation from the Mahasarakham University. He said that since the initial signing of the MoU in 2019, the two units have conducted numerous exchanges and built a long-term, pragmatic collaboration in the fields of geology and paleontology.
WANG Jun and Mongkol Udchachon both expressed commitment to using this new MoU to strengthen this strategic partnership and elevate collaboration in talent development, scientific research, and science education to a new height.
During the forum, Mongkol Udchachon presented an overview of the preparations for the 3rd Asian Palaeontological Congress (Thailand, March 2nd -5th, 2027), and exchanged views on specific details with attending representatives of the Asian Palaeontology Association.
