On April 7, 2022, Dr. Marc Laflamme, Chair of the Ediacaran Subcommission, International Commission on Stratigraphy (ICS), wrote to inform that Prof. SUN Weiguo had been awarded as an Honorary Lifetime Member of the Ediacaran Subcommission. This honour recognizes SUN’s monumental contributions to Ediacaran research. The two previous recipients of this scientific honour are Andy Knoll and Malcolm Walter.
