Prof. WANG Weiming

During the Fourteenth International Palynological Congress held in Salvador, Brazil last year, the International Federation of Palynological Societies (IFPS) established a new session of the governing council. According to the IFPS' constitution, a full brewing was made before voting for the vice-presidents. Recently, Prof. WANG Weiming from Nanjing Institute of Geology and palaeontology, Chinese Academy of Sciences was elected as the vice-president of the IFPS' fifteenth Council. 

IFPS is a federation of more than 20 regional, national, linguistic palynological societies all over the world. Its goals are to advance knowledge in palynology and related subjects by promoting international cooperation and sponsoring regular meetings between palynologists of all countries and regions. IFPS publishes the  PALYNOS Newsletters semiannually, covering the progress of the discipline, academic activities among the affiliated societies, and other related conference information, etc.
