Cretaceous Nonmarine Ostracods of Chaoshui Basin, Northwest China

Abstract:

This paper reports for the first time the Cretaceous nonmarine ostracods from Chaoshui Basin, including 32 species in 12 genera. Based on the composition and distribution of these species, three ostracod assemblages have been recognized in ascending order as follows:

1. Cypridea (Cypridea)-Cypridea (Ulwellia) Assemblage of Upper Valanginian to Barremian, from the Middle Formation of Huihuipu Group.

2. Mongolocypris porrecta-Candona ventricostata Assemblage of Aptian to Albian, from the Upper Formation of Huihuipu Group.

3. Mongolocypris subtera-Rhinocypris pustulata Assemblage of Cenomanian, from the Jingangquan Formation.
