Early Permian conodonts from the Nashui Section, Luodian of Guizhou

Abstract:

Chuanshanian and Chihsian conodonts comprising 23 species representing 6 genera are described from the Nashui Section of southern Guizhou. Nine conodont zones, which are in descending order, the Mesogondolella idahoensis, M. guujioensis-M. intermedia, Neostreptognathodus pequopensis, Sweetognathus whitei, Mesogondolella bisselli, Sweetognathus inoratus, Mesogondolella dentiseparata, Streptognathodus barskovi and S. wabaunsensis-S. nodulinearis Zones are recognized. In the light of this succession, discussion is made on the stratigraphic level of the lower boundary of the Permian and the subdivisions of the Lower Permian.
