Correlation of Permian deposits in China

Sheng Jin-zhang and Jin Yu-gan

pp. 14-113, in English

Abstract:

A correlation chart documents and correlates Permian deposits in China. A refined regional chronostratigraphic scheme for the Permian in China is proposed and biostratigraphic subdivisions of four major stratigraphic regions are outlined. Difficulties are also presented concerning the biostratigraphic and chronostratigraphic classifications. Eighty-three regional successions illustrate Chinese Permian successions. Each of these stratigraphic columns is documented by literature references and some are accompanied by explanatory notes.
